People of Tamba + Senegal/Sicily

From Dakar to Paris. The photographic project People of Tamba and the series of short documentaries Senegal/Sicily by Alberto Amoretti and Giovanni Hänninen will now land in Paris on yhe occasion of the Nuit Blanche Paris 2018 (6th-7th October).

People of Tamba and Senegal/Sicily will be part of the installation Mon Super Kilomètre, a one kilometer-long exhibition that connects the Esplanade des Invalides to the Champs-Elysées, via the Alexandre III bridge, a walk filled with encounters, performances and art, an opportunity to reconnect contemporary culture and historical inheritance. Both projects are the result of the period spent in Thread, the artists’ residence of The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation and Le Korsa, in Senegal.


People of Tamba
A photographic project that includes 200 portraits of inhabitants of the Tambacounda area – the poorest region of the country and where the largest number of Senegalese migrants in Italy are from – with the aim of telling the functions and roles that people hold in society.

Senegal/Sicily
A documentary series, created with Alberto Amoretti, screenwriter and director, about the migration between Senegal and Europe, and in particular Sicily as a landing place of migrants from Africa.
