Trecepeste (To cross, to go beyond, to overcome in Romanian) is an exhibition format conceived by six artists. It operates as a generative device—one that triggers and reveals processes of production, enabling the observation, measurement, and activation of transformations in state, form, condition, dimension, and perspective. It captures the urge and the challenge of rethinking position, process, and expression; it registers acts of abandonment, accidental loss, steadfast resistance, and forward movement. At once agent and witness, it embodies both chronicle and document.
Trecepeste presents itself as a kind of “open construction site.” The development of the artists’ work—carried out both at ASSAB ONE and in other locations—was shared with anyone interested in engaging with the evolving phases of the project.
