Nathalie du Pasquier, Quadri a Motore, Libro d'Artista

50 colour pages
Binding format: leporello

Texts by: Francesco Poli, translation by Steve Piccolo

Published on the occasion of the exhibition Nathalie Du Pasquier, QUADRI A MOTORE curated by Francesco Poli for Assab One (12th April – 4th May, 2006) and thanks to contributions from Le Cadre Gallery – Hong Kong and the Centre Culturel Français de Milan. The book shows the evolution in Nathalie Du Pasquier’s pictorial sensitivity: ever since a motorcycle engine – immobile, on its own – entered the range of objects, the compositional dynamic in Nathalie’s work has begun to open up to freer, more agitated choices, so to speak, even including disorderly accumulations and dilatations of the pictorial setting.

Biography

Nathalie Du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux and has lived in Milan since 1979. She was one of the founder members of Memphis. She worked in the field of design, developing textiles, carpets, furniture and objects until 1987, when the collective ceased to be active. Since then, painting has been her primary occupation and she has held numerous personal and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad. She has had two personal exhibitions at Assab One: Quadri a motore and Ensemble. Also for Assab One she created Buzz Box, a project in collaboration with Steve Piccolo, and in 2013 took part in the exhibition Il Viaggio di Roland Ultra.
